Bio
Brian Jones (he/him/his) is a licensed professional counselor that completed his bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Drexel University and his Master of Science in Education, in Clinical Mental Health, from Saint Bonaventure University.
His clinical areas of focus include couples, adults, senior citizens, and adolescents, struggling with anxiety, ADHD, communication issues, stress, grief & loss, depression, panic attacks, anger management, erectile dysfunction, low self- esteem, parenting, trauma, crisis, and life transitions. Brian has a warm and collaborative approach that allows his clients to feel at ease immediately. Brian aspires to have each client leave therapy empowered to take back control of their life.
Outside of work, Brian wears many hats. He is a spouse, a dad and a volunteer with the American Red Cross as a Disaster Responder and a Case Manager for Recovery. He supports families that have been impacted by crises, such as home fire, by giving them the support and resources to assist in their recovery. Brian also spends his free time working out and running as he believes that a healthy body can have a positive impact on creating a healthy mind.
As an African American/Black Male Therapist, Brian is also an advocate for mental health awareness to help decrease the stigma that mental health carries, especially within minority communities. Brian is committed to his client’s success and will work with you to become the author of your own life.

Brian’s Therapeutic Approach
One of Brian’s approaches to therapy is through the usage of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is a well-respected psychological treatment that has been proven to be effective for a wide range of problems that people commonly face, including anxiety disorders, substance use issues, marital and relationship difficulties, erectile dysfunction, and even severe mental illnesses. Numerous research studies suggest that CBT leads to significant improvements in overall functioning and quality of life for those who engage in it. In fact, in many studies, CBT has been demonstrated to be as effective as, or even more effective than, other forms of psychological therapy or psychiatric medications. Brian firmly believes that most psychological problems stem, at least in part, from irrational, faulty, or unhelpful ways of thinking. To address these issues, Brian employs CBT techniques to assist clients who are suffering from various psychological problems in learning better and more constructive ways to cope. He uses effective strategies that not only relieve their symptoms but also empower them to take charge of their lives. Through engaging exercises during sessions, along with “homework” assignments outside of sessions, clients are guided to develop crucial coping skills that enable them to transform their thinking, manage their problematic emotions, and modify their behaviors. Different concerns will call for different therapeutic approaches, so Brian also utilizes various techniques, including Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Focused CBT, to ensure clients receive the most appropriate support for their unique situations.
