What better time for change then right this very moment

Brian’s Therapeutic Approach

One of Brian’s approaches to therapy is through the usage of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).  CBT is a psychological treatment that has been proven to be effective for a range of problems the people face, such as, anxiety disorders, substance use problems, marital/relationship problems, erectile dysfunction, and severe mental illness. Numerous research studies suggest that CBT leads to significant improvement in functioning and quality of life. In many studies, CBT has been demonstrated to be as effective as, or more effective than, other forms of psychological therapy or psychiatric medications.

Brian’s belief is that most problems are partly based on irrational, faulty or unhelpful ways of thinking.  Brian then uses CBT to help clients suffering from psychological problems learn better ways of coping with them, using effective strategies that helps in relieving their symptoms and becoming more empowered in their lives.  Through exercises in the session as well as “homework” exercises outside of sessions, clients are helped to develop coping skills, whereby they can learn to change their own thinking, problematic emotions, and behavior.

Different concerns will call for different approaches, so Brian also utilizes techniques, such as Mindfulness, DBT, and Trauma-Focused CBT
